BINAX
THE NEXT GENERATION OF SIEMENS TECHNOLOGY

When in the hearing aid design business, would it not be wise to look at how natural hearing work? Siemens has done exactly that with focus on things we take for granted. Hearing with both ears, called "binaural" hearing, processing of both loud and soft sounds, what produces speech clarity and anything else you can imagine about hearing. Aging in its purest definition, is simply a process of deterioration over time. Our ears are certainly not immune. Siemens has put a focus on binaural processes and translated those findings to their newest hearing aid family, the Binax family. Siemens simulates the advantages of binaural hearing by linking the hearing aids together wirelessly to reproduce the full effect of hearing with both ears. Siemens, through independent studies*, indicates it has the first hearing aid technology that can produce better hearing in difficult listening situations for users of Binax than people with normal hearing. If you're interested in reading the studies, here they are:

*Two clinical studies have shown that Binax provides better than normal hearing in certain demanding environments (University of Northern Colorado, 2014; Oldenburg H"rzentrum, 2013): Speech Reception Thresholds (SRT) in cocktail-party situations improved up to 2.9 dB for wearers with mild to moderate hearing loss using Carat binax or Pure binax hearing aids with narrow directionality, compared to people with normal hearing.

Binax is feature rich and varies depending on the product model. Following are features common to all the models. For specific information by model, please visit that model page.

FEATURES OF BINAX PRODUCT LINE

Binaural hearing: Binaural hearing, hearing with both ears, is essential for localizing or determining the direction a sound comes from. It is also critical for better understanding of the spoken word as each ear uses only one hemisphere of the brain. Two halves are better than one!

Three model styles to choose from:

Ace Binax, Siemens smallest and most discreet model, offers Binax hearing aid technology plus discretion.

Pure Binax, Siemens most popular model, offers all of the Binax advantages but in addition provides the ability to avoid battery changes by offering a rechargeable instrument. For conventional battery users, battery life is longer than the battery life in the Ace model.

Carat Binax: Carat Binax offers all of the same benefits of the Pure Binax but with a larger battery for more extended battery life..

Siemens touchControl App allows the user the convenience of utilizing their smartphones as adiscreet remote control for their hearing aids.

Programmable push button or rocker arm for on-board hearing aid manipulation.

On/off switch built into battery door

IP 67 rating to ensure operation in all moisture and dust conditions

Available in 2 performance levels 7bx and 5bx fitting hearing loss ranging from mild to moderate (see fitting range chart for dome and mold fitting options)

Tinnitus suferers can use the tinnitus noiser option for relief while not affecting normal listening.

easyTek App Full control of the easyTek along with the other Bluetooth devices applicable.

Nanocoating: The device is given a special coating to provide resitance to moisture to improve reliability. This coating is one of several features that allows the device to attain an IP certification.

48 channels in binax 7, 32 channels in binax 5. The number of channels is directly related to the fine tuning of the hearing aid. Features such as speech and noise reduction become more effective with an increase in channels.

Hearing programs (memories) 6 -Allows you to select different memories for different listening environments, like in a restaurant, music or outdoors.

Directional microphones: A dual microphone system typically used to hear more sounds coming from the front than the back in noisey situations. This aids the user in hearing better in difficult situations.

SpeechFocus Continuously analyzes the environment for the best microphone configuration offering the best speech intelligibility for the user, regardless of the direction of speech.

TruEar™ Simulates the acoustics of the outer ear to allow for better front and back localization

eWindScreen™ is an automatic algorithm which detects wind and suppresses it.

Extended bandwidth delivers amplification out to 12,000 Hz. This ultra high frequency enhances speech quality and brilliance

Feedback cancellation Feedback cancellation stops that pesky whistling while maintaining adequate power levels.

Speech and noise management through the Binax technology is effective and functional

ACE BINAX
Siemens has always been known for great and functional design. When it comes to hearing aids, size matters to some users. Siemens offers its smallest Binax product in the form of the Ace Binax. The best of both worlds for many users is discretion combined with function. Ace offers that along with the added convenience of the touchControl App for smartphones. Ace Binax utilizes a size 10A battery allowing for minimized construction for maximum discretion. .
